Official Nissan GT-R 7:29 Nurburgring

To prove the point of how quick the Corvette ZR1 is I wanted to post the video for the 7:29 Nissan GT-R run. What it comes down to though is considering there is less than 3 seconds of a difference between the ZR1 time and the GT-R the cars, for all anybody knows, are equal. Yes, you might see people online making claims that the ZR1 ’spanked’ the GT-R… In a drag race, yes. Once you start throwing curves at it though, you realize the GT-R is able to maintain higher speeds in and out of cornering, and the ZR1, if it wasn’t for the long stretch at the end of the track would have lost to the ZR1.

Logically speaking, I’d want the GT-R due to it’s handling and speed, versus the ZR1 that I would leave in the dust on a track. Lets also keep in mind that the ZR1 is a rare, extremely special edition of the Corvette. Few important parts are the same from the base Corvette, etc, etc.

Which got me thinking, what would a highly tuned GT-R be like? It turns out Hennessey does a GT-R upgrade and they’re responsible for the ZR1… Considering the handling ability on the GT-R, a huge boost in performance one would think that pit them against each other after both have had the Hennessey upgrades and it’s obvious the GT-R is by far the better platform.
