American Muslim Women “unveiled”

The gist of the video is that people in the West associate modest clothing worn in the Arab world with suppression. This is NOT always the case. This association is part of the majority of Westerners (The U.S.) seeing the rest of the world as an ethnicity and themselves as the standard… This obviously leads to a ridiculous amount of issues and needs to be resolved.

It’s pretty easy and obvious to look at Western culture and realize it is extremely sexually charged, and within that women have to fight just as hard if not harder to get proper respect than many women have to in parts of the modern Arab world… I live in a country that uses sex to sell everything. I constantly hear women struggling to find good guys, and many guys struggling to find women that are as intelligent as they are sexy (Heads up ladies, they’re one in the same for a good guy).

What I do appreciate about the cultures that have tried to maintain modesty with women, is that there is a much higher chance of finding a smart, intelligent, funny women in the sea of females because since they cannot use their bodies to get what they want nor are expected to, it comes down to mental stimulation that keeps a couple together and happy… And at the same token, since there is so much mutual respect in modest cultures all aspects of the relationship are important… I have yet to see ‘trophy wives’ in these cultures, and that makes me think there is hope for true gentlemen and women.
