The will to run…

We all run… To or from and below or above. But with running, there is a starting point or a end point. Whether it is physical or metaphorical, a place in your mind or a place on earth. An unreachable or reachable level of achievement or impossible line of achievement, or a list there of. To put it simply we all mark an A somewhere on a map of some kind and go from there, to or from it depends on the person and the veritable thumbtack “A”.

This is fine, proper, instinctual, and overall the nature of things. Achievements, having a past, all needed for survival but a requirement for purpose and meaning. Which generally we think seperates us from the “animals”. It doesn’t. We’re just beyond using sticks to pick ants out of tree trunks. We have the luxury of having the sum of thousands of years of technology beyond a monkey. We see this as divine. I’m not arguing that we’re not, I’m arguing the ego we all inherit and not really arguing pointing it out.

What does this have to do with running? Because due to this inherit ego and/or purpose that is why we run. We need a gazelle or predator on our ass to do so, to run. We formulate it into money or power or one before the other. The problem with realizing all of what I just said equates a lot of blood and sweat to one thing; bullsh*t. Because then we see how hindered our relationships are due to that predator called taxes, or need for a raise, or to feed an ego, etc. You wonder what you were doing if you didn’t know people that lived far from you, or if you worked in a small town and not a metropolis. A place where business with done with those who could get to you within a day’s ride. You would be more of a craftsman than just another person that can do what you do just in a different company. And that alone can cause problems for the “others”; the ones that have no counterparts in a different company. What are they to do within this structure that has a role for almost anybody, because it’s lumps everybody into categories?

So then there is either acceptance of this or we modify it, we make it part of an equation, not the sum of the equation, not the thing to act on. We bury it into a socio economic responsibility bestowed upon us by birth because we were born in the last thousands of years within this technological outlook we are a part of today.

I just realized this is rambling and that I am in no way going to make my final point, not like this. So I’ll just stop now.
